Lincoln Sounds

Ladies a cappella harmony chorus

Region 31 Covention - May 2010

The dress rehearsal was held at our rehearsal venue in front of a highly appreciative audience.  As well as performing our competition package (twice!)  we sang a selection of repertoir songs.  Our guests were also entertained by Harmony Lincs and Lincoln Mix (drawn from members of Lincoln Sounds and Harmony Lincs).

Then the Competition!

Our first song was 'How Many Hearts Have You Broken', and straight into the choreography . Followed by our 2nd song the beautiful ballad 'If I Give My Heart to You' .

And finally - the Results:

We were all very surprised and absolutely delighted when the results were announced:  '3rd place, Small Chorus, with a score of 501 - Lincoln Sounds Chorus' - our best ever score which moved us up from a Sweet Adelines C+ graded chorus to a B-.  We had been taking note of all the small choruses we thought had performed better than us  . . . Just goes to prove how difficult it is to judge your own performance!

It was an unexpected result as our Director Chris Smith had only been with us for a very short time and our Assistant Directors Sally and Pat had been brilliantly standing in since the departure of our previous director to a new job.
